For all students enrolling in a master’s The ENS de Lyon and its partners offer scholarships for excellent international students to enroll in its Master’s programs in Exact Sciences, Arts, Human, and Social Sciences(except FEADep Master’s program).

Study in France on Scholarship
Eligibility Condition to Study in France
You must be above 18 years of age
For a training course not exceeding three months, you will be an issued-stay visa
For training courses exceeding three months or six months, then you will be issued a temporary long-stay visa, which will require no further formalities on your arrival in France
For training or a course exceeding six months, you will be issued a long-stay visa, equivalent to a resident-to-residence permit, which will be subject to further formalities on your arrival in France.
However, the Spouse of the applicant will get a visitor’s visa and will not be allowed to work either. He or she can only be allowed to work in France if their partner/spouse is employed in France.

- A valid passport and copies of your previous visas if you have any
- Official Letter of Acceptance/Enrolment from the institution that offered you admission
- Evidence of monetary means for covering all expenses during the period of study
- Air flight reservation/ticket with the date of your departure
- Medical insurance can cost around 30,000 Euros yearly.
- A document that states the arrangements for accommodation during your studies period
- If you have enrolled in a course taught in French, you will need a proficiency certificate for the French language
- Evidence of payment of visa fees
- If applicable, proof of civil status
Conditions for working while studying
An international student on a student visa in France will allow being allowed to work for a total of 964 hours per year. That is to say, 60% of the regular working hours in France. However, part-time work would not be enough to cover all the study expenses, but it might be used as a supplement.

Secondly, please note: the form will allow applicants to apply for either undergraduate or Master’program and also, for a scholarship of excellence for those who need grants.
Application review: all applications are reviewed by the admission committee of the ENS de Lyon. No results will be given by phone.
Admissions and enrolment: if your application is approved, then you will receive a letter of pre-enrolment with the steps to be followed to apply(enroll).

Scholarship Documents Requested
All applicants should note this: The Internation Students office will no longer be validated for the application. That is to say, the responsibility of the students is to find out all required documents and make to provide everything(upload)
However, those needed documents that are uploaded will be examined after the validation of the online scholarship application. Therefore, below is the necessary document that is requested that applicants should provide and upload in the application form, either in French or English, ONLY.
- Meanwhile, All candidates should provide:
- Two referee letters for previous school or family members, (French or English) from professors who have close knowledge of the candidate’s work- If the individual is not able to come up with the letter, they can be sent to the professor by email to the institution ( with their names and Degree choose written in the name of the document)
- Motivation Letter
- Curriculum Vitae
- Certificate of Diplomas and degree already obtained(high school certificate. Bachelor’s degree)-documents are accepted only in French or English. However, if the document is in another language, the applicant will need to translate those documents into French or English, for officially certified
- University academic transcript of records- documents are accepted only in French or English. If your document is in another language, you have to provide a translated document in French or English, officially certified
- For the current year: proof of enrollment- documents are accepted only in French or English. Also, if the proof of registration is not available now, then the required diploma for Master’s admission will have to be transmitted before the beginning of the academic year(compulsory)
- However, if you wish to apply for a Master’s program scholarship in Arts, Humanities, Languages, or Social Science: you need to provide.
- A summary of your research project work in French ( 3 pages minimum)- except for Master in Advanced Economics(in English)
- The reason for the underlying justification about previous research in the same field(whether personal or not), methodological direction, an indicative bibliography, a list of individual or publications, or participation in colloquia(if applicable)
- A certificate of proficiency in French or English
